Desktop defense is a recent game but, none the less, a classic. It is one of the causes of the recent Defend the Tower boom. The rules are simple: position and upgrade your towers in order to destroy the enemy's army. Desktop defense is one of the first in the genre to allow the construction of mazes with your towers: an easy way to slay your opponents.

Friday Classics: MOTAS

If Crimson Room was the online game that has initiated the Escape the Room game fever, Mistery of Time and Space (MOTAS) revamped the Point and Click games and can be considered the spiritual ancestor of the Crimson Room. MOTAS is actually a series of Escape the Room games that will require a lot of logic for you to progress. In the beginning, no plot information is given but, bit by bit, the mystery of time and space is revealed.

Hapland a serie of atypic games that were a huge success in 2005. You have to click in the right places at the right times in order to survive. The other option is certain death. Grow is one of those games that are so original and successful that end up defining a genre. You start with a world in which you put a dozen of objects. Each object develops and interacts with the others in a unique way. The secret is to put the objects in the right order: if your mountain hasn't developed enough, your clouds won't form, etc.
